I attended their volunteer conference in Carmel-by-the-Sea last month.

I gave a presentation at the conference on how to take better dog photos. One of my tips was if you're having trouble getting the dog to look at the camera try a noisemaker like a squeaky ball, harmonica, kazoo or train whistle.

I'm proud to be a member of HeARTs Speak, an organization that unites artists to increase the visibility of shelter animals. HeARTs Speak generously donated their shelter photography field guide to the attendees of the conference.
